Thrills and spillage: the changing tastes of Australia’s cordial drinkers (or the Bickford’s phenomenon)
SASD Connect listed business Bickford’s has been featured in an article by Roy Morgan Research, which investigated trends of cordial consumption in Australia.
The Bickford’s brand performed strongly over the last seven years, with an increase in consumption of 125%.
It was one of only three brands to increase consumption in that period, and the only brand to increase by a large margin.
Bickford’s sits as the second most consumed cordial, and is the clear favourite in South Australia.
“Like pre-packaged fruit juice, consumption of cordial has been in decline for some time, with the latest findings from Roy Morgan Research revealing that the number of Australians drinking it in an average four-week period has plummeted by 1 million since 2009.
