Zero-carbon city apartment complex for Adelaide
The proposal by SASD Connect business Dsquared Consulting for the first carbon-neutral apartment complex in Adelaide’s CBD has featured in InDaily.
The company won a $10,000 grant to develop the plan.
Their proposal is part of a competition to find the best ideas to reduce carbon emissions within the CBD and North Adelaide, and joins 10 other finalists in the running for a share of $250,000 in prize money.
The Lord Mayor Martin Haese was impressed by the idea, and was pleased an Adelaide business had been chosen as a finalist.
He said these ideas are important if Adelaide is to become the world’s first carbon neutral city.
“The first carbon-neutral apartment complex for Adelaide’s CBD is one step closer to reality, conceived as a “vertical village” with a foliage-shrouded façade.
A city location, a developer and a design firm have been identified for the project, says engineer Paul Davy of dsquared Consulting – all that’s needed now is an injection of capital…”
